Types 1 to 3, designed by Group members. Carried covers cancelled P1, P2 or P3. Printed by J Gledhill Ltd, Manchester, type 1 (the Santa head design), was printed onto self-adhesive labels but often trimmed square, types 2 & 3 on sheets of self-adhesive imperforate paper.
A first day cover bearing the set of three stamps- cancelled P1 - signed by P.A.Haynes (District Commissioner) was produced. Later a last day cover also bearing the set of three stamps and signed by P.A.Haynes - cancelled P2 was produced.
Types 4 to 6, designed by Group members. Carried covers cancelled P3. Printed by J Gledhill Ltd, Manchester, type 4 (the Santa head design), was printed onto self-adhesive labels but often trimmed square, types 5 & 6 on sheets of self-adhesive imperforate paper. While apparently 1985 designs overprinted with type O1 by hand, the stamp colours are actually different.
A first day cover bearing the set of three stamps- cancelled P4 was produced.
Types 7 to 8, printing details as types 5 & 6, these are in the colours of the 1986 overprinted issue but have not been overprinted, hence it is difficult to ascertain whether they are actually variant 1985 issues or 1986 issues that escaped being overprinted, due to the colours used I have assumed the latter when placing them in the above list - both were only seen cancelled P3 in red.
Type P1, used on first day covers in 1985.
Type P2, used on last day covers in 1985.
Type P3.
Type P4, used on first day covers in 1986.
Type O1, applied by hand so the position is variable.
