Operated by four Bristol Districts and Kingswood. Has superseded the previous operations in Bristol South & Kingswood (1995-6), Bristol South (1993-4) and Bristol South-East (1992) q.v. Served all of Bristol and Kingswood

Kingswood, Bristol South East, Bristol South West, Bristol North East and Bristol North West are all Districts in the Scout County of Avon. Did not operate from 2004 onwards owing to the withdrawal of some participants leaving the rest overstretched.

Types 16 to 20, 40x30mm, sponsored printed by the National Deposit Friendly Society Ltd., in sheets of 25 (5 rows of 5). Line rouletted about 5. First day covers were produced on plain envelopes.



2001 (November 25th)

2001 issue

Types 21 to 25, 40x30mm, sponsored and printed by the National Deposit Friendly Society Ltd., in sheets of 25 (5 rows of 5). Line rouletted about 5. First day covers were produced on plain envelopes. To commemmorate their tenth year 1p per card was donated to "Radio Lollipop", a local charity which provides a radio service for the patients in Bristol Children's Hospital.

Type 26, 40x30mm, sponsored by Scout Enterprises and printed by ?, in sheets of 42 (6 rows of 7). Line rouletted about 5. First day covers were produced on plain envelopes.



2003 (November 25th)

2003 issue

Type 27, 40x30mm, sponsored by Scout Enterprises and printed by ?, in sheets of 42 (6 rows of 7). Line rouletted about 5, side and lower margins imperf leading to 4 part-perforated variations. First day covers were produced on plain envelopes.



Cancellations

FDC cachet & cancellation

Type C1/P1, used as a cachet on first day covers each year, and as a cancellation on other mail. Unlike previous years (1992-6) the dateline is now incorporated into the main handstamp.
