1985 - 1992

1985 issue

Type 1, 50x25mm, designed by B. Wheatley (Cub leader). Printed by various printers - by Croxsons, The Island, Moor Road, Chesham in 1985 & 1986, by The Folio Three Printing Company, Vale Industrial Park, Tolpits Lane, Watford, Herts in 1987 and by Wensley Bown, Island House, Moor Road, Chesham in 1989 & 1991. It is not possible to identify which of the five printings produced any particular single stamp. No First day covers were issued in 1985 but souvenir covers were produced in 1989, 1990 and 1991.

1992

1992 emergency issue 1992 emergency issue

Types 2 & 2a, 38x50mm, designed by John Hare and photocopied onto sheets of 9 labels which were then hand rouletted with a cutting wheel to give sheets of 18 stamps. Originally designed for the 1991 post and printed on green labels but never issued as not needed. In 1992 it was found that the computer file had been wiped so the text "Chesham Scoutpost 1992" was individually stuck over the 1991 artwork by hand, due to inaccuracies in the method all 18 stamps in the sheet are slightly different. Individual stamps will have either both left-hand corners or both right-hand corners rounded. Type 2a is a constant error appearing once per sheet at row 2 stamp 5.
