A first day cover was made available in the shape of a Royal Mail cover with the Cottingham stamp cancelled with P1 in violet at left & 19p BPO stamp cancelled Hull Philatelic Counter 10 Dec 88 at right. There is nothing to indicate whether the Cottingham stamp was there initially or added later.
