Operated by 1st Heybridge Scout Group, but working in partnership with the East Essex Consortium service. Serving Heybridge, Mill Beach, Heybridge Basin & Langford and also transferring cards to all the other areas within the East Essex operation.

1st Heybridge Scout Group is part of the Maldon & Dengie District in the Scout County of Essex.

Delivered cards originating from the East Essex Consortium to Heybridge, Mill Beach, Heybridge Basin & Langford. There were no posting facilities in these villages at this time.

Type 1, 38x20mm, designed by ? and computer ink-jet printed on sheets of 65 (13 rows of 5) Avery self-adhesive labels, imperforate backing sheet. Possibly fugitive ink. First day covers issued on specially printed envelopes.

First day covers carrying a single stamp were issued on specially printed envelopes. FDCs cancelled with P1 in red, ordinary mail cancelled with P2 in red.

(? rows of ?). 2p value used as a makeup from old 10p issues although it is not known whether this was aimed at facilitating the sale of old stocks of 10p issues or for customers who had stamps left from previous years.
