Kidderminster
Hereford & Worcester, England

Operated by Kidderminster District Scouts. Serving Kidderminster & the nearby villages of Blakedown, Cookley & Wolverley (but not all of the countryside between). Blakedown was dropped from the distribution area after the first few years. Also delivered at different times via informal exchange to the area covered by the "Bewdley", "Bewdley & Cleobury Mortimer", "Bewdley & Stourport"  and "Stourport" Posts (qv). Did not operate in 2001, restarted at an increased price of 15p in 2002. No cancellations were used by Kidderminster at any time but covers may have been cancelled by Bewdley, Stourport or Cleobury Mortimer prior to delivery.

Kidderminster is a District within the Scout County of Hereford and Worcester.

1993 issue

Type 1, 25x38mm, designed, printed and sponsored by Veldonn Printers, Kidderminster on self-adhesive labels in sheets of 36 (6 rows of 6) on an imperforate backing sheet.

Types 2 to 4, 32x44mm approximately, designed, printed and sponsored by Veldonn Printers, Kidderminster in sheets of 24 (4 rows of 6), each row containing 2 of each design in pairs, giving the possibility of se tenant pairs of types 2 & 3 and 3 & 4. Paper glossy. Line rouletted about 9. Stamps appear to have been produced in continuous roll form, rouletted on the roll and then guillotined into sheets, often not quite accurately along the rouletting so some top or bottom edges are imperforate. Right hand of sheet always imperforate, left hand side has a 9mm margin rouletted left & right but not across. This leads to several possible perforation variations, a total of three for each of #2 & #3 and six for #4. Made up into pads of many sheets, bound with soft card covers.

Types 5 to 7, 32x44mm approximately, designed, printed and sponsored by Veldonn Printers, Kidderminster in sheets of 24 (4 rows of 6), each row containing 2 of each design in pairs, giving the possibility of se tenant pairs of types 5 & 6 and 6 & 7. Designs as 1995 with the value removed, paper still glossy. Line rouletted about 9. Sheets have a 9mm margin on the left side rouletted left & right but not across, the other three sides have a 1 to 2mm imperforate margin. No perforation variations. Made up into pads of many sheets, bound with soft card covers.

Types 8 to 10, 32x44mm approximately, designed, printed and sponsored by Veldonn Printers, Kidderminster in sheets of 24 (4 rows of 6), each row containing 2 of each design in pairs, giving the possibility of se tenant pairs of types 8 & 9 and 9 & 10. Designs as 1996 but the paper is matt surfaced and the colours are somewhat paler. Line rouletted about 9. Sheets have a 9mm margin on the left side rouletted left & right but not across, the other three sides have a 1 to 2mm imperforate margin. No perforation variations. Made up into pads of many sheets, bound with soft card covers.

Types 11 to 13, one sheet per pad had the red colour omitted, some were sold to the public, some were intercepted and destroyed.

No service in 2001.

1997 issue re-used but charge increased to 15p per card.

Types 14 to 16, 32x44mm approximately, designed, printed and sponsored by Veldonn Printers, Kidderminster in sheets of 24 (4 rows of 6), each row containing 2 of each design in pairs, giving the possibility of se tenant pairs of types 14 & 15 and 15 & 16. Designs as 1996 but the paper is much whiter and the colours are considerably paler. Line rouletted about 9. Sheets have a 9mm margin on the left side rouletted left & right but not across, the other three sides have a 1 to 2mm imperforate margin. No perforation variations. Made up into pads of many sheets, bound with soft card covers. Some later issues were on paper with a shinier gum.

Types 17 to 19, 39x52mm approximately, designed by three members of the Beavers & Cubs, printed by ? on three seperate 57mm wide rolls of self-adhesive stamps on an imperforate backing strip.
