Newport
Gwent, Wales

Operated by over 20 Scout & Guide units and also Newport Sea Cadet Corps and the Boys Brigade. No official cancellations (see below). Newport started in 1990, joined by Magor & Westwood in 1991 and Llanmartin, Caldicot & Risca in 1992. Risca left in 1995 to join with the new Islwyn post in their own district. No FDCs issued and no official cancellations used althouth a few units applied unofficial frankings to the cards they delivered.

Newport is a District within the Scout Area of Gwent.

After losing two years to Covid-19 problems the District was unable to rally enough members to restart the service in 2022.

For the purposes of this catalogue we have just allocated catalogue numbers each year as we would expect collectors to want the strips of 5 or 10 which would all be unique.
