Porthcawl & Nottage

Operated by Porthcawl Scouts with Nottage Venture Scouts. From 1987 onwards Nottage issued their own stamps and after 1997 Porthcawl apparently ceased to be involved.

Porthcawl & Nottage Scouts are groups in the Bridgend District within the Scout Area of Mid Glamorgan.

1986 issue

Type 1. First day covers were produced in 1986 on plain envelopes. First day of service covers were produced in 1987 on plain envelopes (wrongly inscribed "First Day Cover").

this is an overly dark illustration - it apparently looks darker because the stamp is printed on a greyer paper. This version has been reported as used in 1987 but has not been seen by the cataloguer.
