Types 1 and 2, 30x30mm and 30x60mm, printed by M.R.C. Print Ltd, Maldon in sheets of 14 (2 rows, each 5x5p & 2x10p). Line rouletted about 10. A few imperforate copies exist. No FDC in 1984, souvenir covers produced in 1985/6/7 (dated 17Dec1985, 01Dec1986, some erroneously claiming to be FDCs. These stamps reused every year until 1989. 3rd Witham stamps used until own issue delivered in 1984 (post started 1st Dec with Witham stamps, Rivenhall's own stamps issued 8th Dec).
No service by Rivenhall Scouts - deliveries were made by 3rd Witham and Kelvedon & Feering Scouts instead.
Witham issues used when local supplies not available. Covers can be found with Witham stamps and Rivenhall postmarks P2 & P3 in black. A few covers have been seen dated 1992 with either 2x5p or 1x10p Rivenhall stamps from 1984.
Types 3 to 8, 30x64mm, printed by letterpress by John Mason, Witham from plates made by Sildie of Maldon, in sheets of six in one vertical column, rouletted margin at top, rouletted about 3 between, other three sides of the sheet imperforate - leading to two perforation options for each stamp - both sides imperf or both sides and bottom edge imperf. During 1994 only, the top stamp in each strip differed from the other five by having the central holly spray rotated through 180°. (This error was corrected before the 1995 printing was done.) Booklets were produced, each containing two sheets of 6, (usually different colours) and sold for £1.00. First day covers with all three stamps were produced (but do not carry the exact date, only the year).

The actual date of issue of these three further colour varieties of the 1997 design is unknown at present.
Type 21, 38x63mm, printed by ? in sheets of 21 (7 rows of 3) on self-adhesive labels with an imperforate backing sheet.
Dating of this issue is not certain either.
Type P1, used on ordinary cards in 1984.
Type P2, used on ordinary cards from 1985 onwards.
Type P3, used 1984 onwards with P1 or P2.
Type P4, used on FDCs 1994 onwards.

Type C1. This cancel has been seen on a cover with an Apollo stamp but was not necessarily applied by them, more likely by the delivering area.
