Started in around 1988 as a joint effort between Southwell Scouts and Southwell Boys Brigade offering a free card delivery service to the senior citizens and the registered disabled.

In 2008 the Southwell Boys Brigade was disbanded due to a lack of leaders and the Southwell Scouts continued alone.

Three rubber stamps have been reported as used in the early years (no specific dates available).

C1 - A John Bull printing outfit.

C2 - An animal rubber stamp.

C3 - A rubber stamp with a Christmas message.


In the early 2000's computer generated labels were applied to all items delivered.

1st version - "Merry Christmas from the Southwell Scouts and boys Brigade".

2nd version - in 2009 used 1st version with "and Boys Brigade" cut off the label as the Boys Brigade had been disbanded the year before.

3rd version - in 2012 new label, "Merry Christmas from the Southwell Scouts" rounded corners,

4th version - in 2016 a revised label was produced "Merry Christmas from Southwell Scout Group".
