Known locally as ‘Bellpost’. Initially operated by 1st Winterbourne (St. Michael's) Scouts, 1st Winterbourne Down and Buryside Scouts, 1st Winterbourne Guides, 2nd Winterbourne Down Guides, 1st Frampton Guides & 2nd Frampton Guides to raise funds for the rehanging of the bells of St Michael’s church, Winterbourne and organised by a member of the Bells Project Team, John Kite. 100% of proceeds to bell fund in the first year, 50% of proceeds to bell fund in second year, subsequently 50% to various charities. The other 50% (from 1983 onwards) distributed to participating scout & guide units according to the weight of cards delivered. Kept name ‘Bellpost’ even when no longer supporting the Church’s bell fund. In 1989 1st Winterbourne (St Michael’s) took over the organisation from John Kite. Up to 1990 deliveries were to Winterbourne, Winterbourne Down & Frampton Cotterell, in 1991 Coalpit Heath was added. In 1995 1st Frampton Scouts replaced 1st Frampton Guides. Sorting done by 1st Winterbourne (St Michael’s) Venture Unit. Postmarks no longer used from 1992 onwards. Although new batches were printed each year, different printings of any one design are indistinguishable from each other.

1st Winterbourne (St. Michael's) Scouts and 1st Winterbourne Down Scouts are part of the South Cotswold District within the Scout County of Avon.
