Wembley (6th)
Middlesex, England

Operated by 6th Wembley (Middlesex) Scouts in conjuction with the 3rd Sudbury and 3rd and 7th Wembley Scouts. Two tier pricing for "own area" or "other areas" served by the other scout groups.

6th Wembley (Middlesex) Scouts are now part of the Greenford District within the Scout County of Greater London Middlesex West (Back in the 1980s they were part of the Wembley and Sudbury District within the Scout County of Greater London North West).

Many examples of colour trials, black prints and "specimen" overprints can be found. While these are out of the scope of this catalogue illustrations of individual stamps and miniature sheets are included for interest although no classification is attempted.

1982

Type 1, 44x21mm, designed by R A Phillips & printed by him on an Adana hand press in sheets of 8 (4 rows of 2) and made up into booklets for sale. First day covers were produced on locally designed envelopes.



1983

Types 2 and 3, 30x40mm, designed by R A Phillips & printed by him on an Adana hand press in sheets of 10 (2 rows of 5) and made up into booklets for sale. First day covers were produced on locally designed envelopes with the three 1983 stamps from 3rd & 6th Wembley on the one cover.

The lower stamps in the vertical pairs (types 14a/15a)show a variation in the "88" used in the year entry - this occurs in the right hand two stamps of the bottom row of the booklet pane & was caused by a shortage of 8s in the normal typeface meaning a different font had to be substituted. First day covers were produced on locally designed envelopes.
