Whitby is served by three co-operating services, "Eskmouth" from 1982, "Robin Hood's Bay" from 1990 & "Sleights" from 1983/4 and it is not uncommon to see cancels from two on one cover,  indicating the collecting and delivering units. Each Unit is shown separately below.

Initially applied cachet to left of the cover, but since Sleights joined in, cachet on right for collecting Group, on left for delivering Group. Statistics are cumulative over all three groups.

Eskmouth (Whitby) Scouts, 1st Robin Hoods Bay Scouts and 1st Sleights Scouts are all part of the "Whitby and District" District within the Scout County of North Yorkshire.

Type C1. Annand's catalogue of 1981/90 issues lists the use of this cachet as follows - in blue in 1983 only

Types C2 & C3. Annand's catalogue of 1981/90 issues records the use of these cachets as follows - C2 (26mm text) or C3 (31mm text) in red in 1982/5/8/90, in blue in 1983/7 and in green in 1984/6/9 - however it is not clear if C1 & C3 were ever used in the same year or if C3 replaced C1 when it wore out. The compiler has only seen C1 (1984) & C3 (1988).

Types C6, C7, C8 & C9, (35mm text). Type C6 seen in 1994, C7 in 1995 & 1997, C8 in 1996 and C9 in 1998. May well have been used in other year/colour combinations.
