1st Witham

Operated using stamps acquired from the 3rd Witham Group
Type 1, 30x30mm, designed & printed by Kerry Green in strips of 8, all four borders imperforate, line rouletted about 10 between stamps.
This illustration is from a photocopy and a proper scan of an actual stamp is required. (Actually red on white).
Types 2 & 3, 30x30mm, designed by ? and electrostatically printed by the East Essex District in sheets of 24 (6 rows of 4), initially imperforate, later line rouletted about 7 except for the bottom margin which remained imperforate, thus giving a total of three varieties.
These illustrations are from photocopies and proper scans of actual stamps are required. (Actually black on orange & white respectively).
Types 4 to 7, 30x30mm, designed by David J Orrell (ADC Scouts) and electrostatically printed by the East Essex District in sheets of 24 (6 rows of 4), initially imperforate, later line rouletted about 6, thus giving a total of two varieties. Types 6 & 7 are the result of the paper supplied being mixed up, only a few sheets were actually issued for use and the rest destroyed once they were noticed.
The last three illustrations are from photocopies and proper scans of actual stamps are required. (Actually black on yellow, yellow & blue respectively).
Type 8, 30x30mm, designed by David J Orrell (ADC Scouts) and electrostatically printed by the East Essex District in sheets of 24 (6 rows of 4), line rouletted about 6.

Type 9, 25mm diameter, designed by ? and printed by offset litho by O & M Printwize on sheets of 12 (2 rows of 6) circular self-adhesive labels on imperforate backing paper.

Types 10 to 12, 25mm diameter, designed by ? and printed by offset litho by O & M Printwize on circular self-adhesive labels on imperforate backing paper. First day covers were produced on specially designed envelopes.
Types 13 & 14, 25mm diameter, designed by ? and printed by offset litho by O & M Printwize on circular self-adhesive labels on imperforate backing paper. First day covers were produced on specially designed envelopes.

Type 15, 38x25mm, designed by ? and printed by ?, sheet layout not known. Paper has a creamy finish.
Type 16, 38x25mm, designed by ? and printed by ?, sheet layout not known. Paper much whiter, red much brighter.
