2001

2001 issue

Type 1, 38x21mm, handstamped (so alignment can vary considerably) onto sheets ofself-adhesive labels, 10 images on a sheet of 12 labels on an imperforate backing sheet. Sold at £1 a sheet.

2002

2002 issue 2002 error

Types 2 to 11 (+ error type 3a), 38x21mm, computer printed onto self adhesive labels in sheets of 65 (10 rows of 5 + 3 rows of blank labels), on an imperforate backing sheet. One stamp (row 2 stamp 1) has the word "Post" omitted from the design. This is constant on all sheets. The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 stamps and 3 labels before sale.

2003

2003 issue

Types 12 to 21, 38x21mm, computer printed by the ESU's leader Tony Harden onto self adhesive labels in sheets of 65 (10 rows of 5 + 3 rows of blank labels), on an imperforate backing sheet. The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 before sale and the three blank labels at the bottom were also trimmed off. These were almost exactly as last year, but apparently the "Post" omitted error had been almost corrected prior to printing - row 2 stamp 1 now has the word "Post" included but the bottom fraction of each letter is still missing - this would only show in a complete strip with the "Avery" logo at the top. An unknown number of sheets in colour were also reprinted with the revised layout (see also 2005).

2004

2004 issue

Types 22 to 31, 38x21mm, computer printed by the ESU's leader Tony Harden onto self adhesive labels in sheets of 65 (10 rows of 5 + 3 rows of blank labels), on an imperforate backing sheet. The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 before sale and the three blank labels at the bottom were also trimmed off.

2005 - 2007

2002 error almost corrected

Type 3b, The stamp designs of 2002 were re-issued (apparently in the corrected 2003 format without the constant error - row 2 stamp 1 now has the word "Post" included but the bottom fraction of each letter is still missing), newly re-printed onto self adhesive labels in sheets of 65 (10 rows of 5 + 3 rows of blank labels), on an imperforate backing sheet. The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 before sale and the three blank labels at the bottom were also trimmed off. The sheets of labels used were not only the same as those used in 2002 (an Avery type called "Laser Guaranteed Jam-Free") - also another variety from Avery (J8651) & one apparently French-made called "Quick DRY". The print quality on the latter two papers is slightly better.

2008

2008 issue

Types 32 to 41, 38x21mm, computer printed by the ESU's leader Tony Harden onto self adhesive labels in sheets of 65 (10 rows of 5 + 3 rows of blank labels), on an imperforate backing sheet. The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 before sale and the three blank labels at the bottom were sometimes trimmed off.

2009

The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 before sale and the three blank labels at the bottom were sometimes trimmed off. The bottom two stamps (in column 2) had errors in the text, both in colour and content.

2010

2010 issue 2010 error

Types 52 to 61 and 60a , 38x21mm, computer printed by the ESU's leader Tony Harden onto self adhesive labels in sheets of 65 (10 rows of 5 the same + 2 further rows of containing all 10 designs + 1 row of blank labels), on an imperforate backing sheet. The sheets were cut into vertical strips of 10 before sale and the next two rows horizontal of labels made up a further strip of 10, row 13 usually trimmed off. The ninth stamp (in column 2) had errors in the text, both in colour and content.
