Types 1 and 2, 60x30mm and 30x30mm respectively, printed offset litho by Barham & Moore, Chelmsford in sheets of 30 (6 rows of 4x5p, 1x10p se-tenant) on gummed paper. Line perforated about 5. First day covers bearing both stamps produced in 1982 on locally designed envelopes. Souvenir covers (erroneously marked FDCs) bearing both stamps were again produced for the first day of service in 1983 on locally designed envelopes.
Types 3 and 4, 30x30mm and 30x60mm respectively, printed offset litho by M.R.C.Print Limited, Maldon in sheets of 14 (2 rows of 5x5p, 2x10p se-tenant) on gummed paper. Line perforated about 10. First day covers bearing both stamps produced in 1984 on plain white envelopes.
Prior to the release of these stamps the 1984 service started on December 1st using the remaining stamps from the previous two years.
Type P1 - used on FDCs & ordinary cards in 1982.
Type P2 - used from 1983 to 1986 in black and only in 1986 in red.
Type P3 - used only in 1983 in red and from 1983 to 1986 in black.
Type C1 - used in 1982.
Type C2 - seen on FDCs in 1984 (a damaged version of P2).
Type C3 - used in 1985.
